TEXT: Psalm 23

As we look through today’s text, we see that in every season, the Lord is our Shepherd and He is worthy of our life.

Question for today:  How do we know and follow the Good Shepherd?

  • The Lord is Our Provider

Psalm 23:1

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

Psalm 23:2

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

Psalm 23:3

he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

  • The Lord is Present

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

  • The Lord is Gracious

Psalm 23:6

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

John 10:9-10

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:11

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
